Abstract
The purpose of this study was to provide a group theraplay program to first-grade school children with poor ego resilience and internalizing disorder who had to fit into the new environment. The group theraplay program was conducted in 14 sessions to improve children¡¯s ego resilience and internalizing disorder. KPRC was utilized before and after the experiment to compare the experimental and control group children¡¯s T scores of ego resilience and internalizing disorder(anxiety, depression and somatization) pretest and posttest scores to verify the effects of the group theraplay program. The major findings of the study were as follows : First, there was a significant gap in ego resilience just between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group. Second, there were significant gaps in internalizing disorder only between the overall pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group. The above-mentioned findings proved that the group theraplay program had an effect on improving the ego resilience and internalizing disorder, namely depression and anxiety, of the first graders who had a poor ego resilience and internalizing disorder.
